Redfield (MK18 3LZ)

There are currently three family sized units plus individual rooms empty and we are actively looking for potential members. Get in touch and come and check the place out… We try to maintain a balance of age and gender. As such at the moment, priority would be given to younger women and couples with kids.Redley Housing Cooperative is a fully mutual housing coop, meaning tenants are members and members are tenants. We share the responsibility for the day to day running, upkeep and management of this large house and gardens and agree to take this on as part of living here.Rents are cheaper than market rates, but adult residents are expected to commit about 2 days their time each week into engaging with the communal decision-making and working on the various day-to-day tasks and activities that are required to keep the house, gardens and community ticking along. It normally takes 3-4 weekend visits by potential members, and then a two week stay, before membership is agreed. This is to give both potential members and existing members plenty of opportunity to explore what it would be like to live together. If you think you might be interested drop us an email at info@redfieldcommunity.org.uk to introduce yourself and arrange to come on an initial visitor day or wwoofing weekend where we can start to get to know each other.

We do lots of things together, from growing organically and maintaining the house and grounds to running public events but we also have private lives.

Keveral Farm Community (PL13 1PA)

Keveral Farm occasionally (but not often) has vacancies for new members (but probably no suitable spaces for families/children).
Members must be easy to live with, responsible, self-reliant, eco-minded, and willing and able to get involved and take on responsibilities.
Co-ops are about everyone participating – we are not just a place to live !
You should read the relevant pages at www.keveral.org
We have enquiries from a lot of people, and we are only able to invite a small number.
You must tell us about yourselves and what attracts you to living as part of a community. If you don’t, we most likely will not invite you, or even reply!

Ploughshare Housing Co-op (EH10 4JQ)

New Housing Cooperative member – Looking for a lovely place to live in a communal fashion?

This could be the place for you!

Who we are:

A group of 7 people living in a housing Cooperative called Ploughshare Housing Cooperative.

We are looking for an 8th member.  Ploughshare Housing Cooperative was established in the early 1980s and has been going strong since- located just behind Bruntsfield high street, in a spacious Georgian house Ploughshare has seen over 120 members over the years.

Who we are looking for and what they would be responsible for:

We are looking for a person who is preferably male identifying, ideally has had some experience living in a group and has enjoyed this.

Be prepared to undertake 2 to 3 hours of house chores per week – as we are autonomous (no landlord) we all need to keep on top of the day to day running of the house; accounts, repairs, purchases, health & safety and other matters.  Plus we have a cat (Stella) and a front and back garden.

We each cook meals for the other house members twice a month.

Rent and bills are paid by each member on the first of each month, which goes towards running costs and in preparation for rainy day scenarios.

What to do if you are interested

Please contact us (Leila) via Email at:

ploughsharehousingcoop@gmail.com

We will then send you a brief questionnaire for you to fill out and return to us along with the agreement you would enter into.

Deadline for submission of filled in questionnaires is the 1st of June 2022.  We will then short list and send out requests for a meet up (an opportunity for both parties to ask questions and get an idea of the other).

Move in date would be a flexible date starting from June 2022
