In a NewsInsideOut.com interview with Alfred Lambremont Webre from rural Ecuador, author of The Silent Ecocide Carlita Shaw documents that humanity is in a 6th mass extinction, caused by humans, and that humans have the solutions to transform the mass extinction and human society into a Life-affirming and sustainable future for Earth.

Carlita Shaw is an ecologist, writer, artist and teacher, she focuses on connecting people with ecology and evolving consciousness. She has founded both a charity and later a non-profit organization www.evolvetoecology.com where people can volunteer to work and live with Indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest.

When she was asked to collaborate with an Indigenous organization, she started out teaching ecology at several Mayan schools in Guatemala nine years ago and now is living and working in Ecuador. She is focusing on conservation, ecological awareness and writing.

Her next projects will be working on some online Ecology Awareness Courses, a series of Amazon Rainforest Field Guides for Animals and Plants exclusive to the most Biodiverse Region of the Choco tropical rainforest that runs up through to Colombia.

Carlita will also be working on a new follow up book to The Silent Ecocidethat focuses on Advances in Ecological and Sustainable practices, Ecological Communities, Ecological Economics and Ecological illiteracy.
